Job Description

T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons in August 2012. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts:

Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.

The successful candidate will be required to perform safety upgrades to navigation and communication towers. Strict adherence to safety guidelines and procedures is required. The candidate will be required to:

  • Inspect and identify safety deficiencies on vertical tower structures.
  • Safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Safely drive a company vehicle and trailer.
  • Work primarily outdoors.
  • Climb towers and other vertical structures ranging from 10 to 350 feet using required PPE.
  • Install OSHA compliant toe-boards, mid-rail, and top rail on tower platforms.
  • Install hatch covers or other safety devices on tower platforms.
  • Install ladders and/or ladder safety systems on towers.
  • Utilizes power tools to complete installations.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriates
  • Construction, safety, and quality training/certifications a plus.
  • MS Office experience and computer proficiency required.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to travel 100% throughout the United States and its territories.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Valid Driver License and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check required.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a satisfactory DOT medical examination.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements.
  • A background check by federal authorities will be performed.
  • Previous tower climbing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience installing electrical circuits (up to 600V) in counduit is a plus
