Parsons is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager for our large and expanding Connected Infrastructure sector.  The position is responsible to sustain and grow our core competency areas of systems engineering, design-build, and client consultation in the NY/NJ area. The selected individual must have proven experience in managing significant and complex rail systems projects.  The Systems Engineering Manager may also manage specific systems projects, providing overall direction for project staffing, customer interface and internal reporting.  The successful candidate will be an aggressive advocate of process driven project delivery, with the ability to provide that vision to employees and customers. Ability to travel to client or project site locations is required.  More specifically, the successful candidate will provide project and design management ensuring:

  • Design schedule and budget are met by internal and sub-consultant design teams
  • Design quality plans are developed and implemented
  • Project reporting is accurate and timely
  • Staffing forecasts provide advance information to maintain appropriate project staffing levels
  • Design team morale is maintained at high levels
  • Client satisfaction in all aspects of contract fulfillment

  • 15+ years of related work experience.
  • Project and staff management experience on large rail systems projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (or in process to become licensed)
  • Expert in Systems Engineering practices according to ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, including plans, processes and tools (e.g. DOORS)
  • Experience in delivering or supporting Reliability and Safety programs, including to CENELEC standards
  • Can develop and maintain good relationships with key clients and partners
