Ready to lead a team that tackles infrastructure challenges? Parsons is looking to hire a Utilities Engineer that is open to travel or relocate to site locations in California. First project would be located in Fresno, CA for 3-6 months. Expenses would be paid.

This this full time role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee a utility design teams quality, design schedule, and overall progress.
  • Coordinates with other design disciplines, utility companies, railroads, and clients
  • Lead coordination meetings and oversee the process of utility design development, verification and validation, and utility package submittals
  • Lead utility task force meetings with a focus on mitigating the high risk of utilities.
  • Develop utility design directives to streamline processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, utility designers, and discipline design managers in a diplomatic and effective manner.
  • Ensure that aggressive project deadlines were achieved, while producing high-quality documents that meet requirements
  • Performs complex engineering tasks work efficiently and accurately.
  • Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. 
  • Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
  • Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and recommends training and development for assigned personnel.
  • Provides technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants. 
  • Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.
  • Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
10+ years of related work experience
Professional Engineer registration may be required
Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
