Role:

Under close supervision, performs a variety of environmental sampling and analytical tasks by applying basic scientific techniques. The Scientist at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained in the utilization of relevant theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. Performs various scientific tasks related to environmental or hazardous waste projects such as field work, sampling, and assisting in report preparation. Some assignments involve the use of computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, etc.). Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.

Responsibilities:

Performs various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.

Reviews and analyzes data collected in environmental sampling programs.

Researches and compiles background data in support of an environmental project.

May assist in permit application development.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a science curriculum related to the assigned discipline and typically up to 3 years of related work experience.

Familiarity with software packages typically associated with the discipline is preferred.
