Quantity Surveyor

Kuwait

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labor costs.
  • Prepare contract documents and agreements. Prepare, negotiate and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and maintain budgets, estimates, cash flow forecasts, cost reports in coordination with the site staff.
  • Coordinate work effort with the whole project team as required.
  • Advise on a range of legal and contractual issues.
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments. 
  • Participate in site visits and give report as necessary to the Resident Engineer/Project Manager.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering from a recognized University. 
  • Minimum 7 years work experience as QS which include multiple complex projects, ideally in infrastructure. GCC experience in similar capacity will be an advantage.
  • Contractually sound with knowledge of FIDIC. 
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel and ability to learn special software.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach to work. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic. 
  • Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
