Parsons is now seeking a Senior Government Audit Liaison Lead for our Government Accounting/Compliance team.  Parsons reputation as a compliant business leader in the area of Government Contracting will be in your hands.

At this level, we are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, both oral and written, the ability to clearly and concisely prepare, present and defend the company position on issues and findings identified by Government auditors.  The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead the audit liaison team.  In this role, you will act as lead liaison between Parsons and its government auditors, you will manage the company disclosure statements to the government, and draft all responses to Government audit reports.  The Government Accounting department is the knowledge base and source for all government regulations as such, you will provide direction to program/division managers, proposal teams, and other internal customers when requested.  You provide guidance to lower level Financial Specialists within the department.  Position may require occasional travel.  

Responsibilities:

Works as lead liaison for all internal and external government audits.  This includes interaction with the on-sight DCAA auditors as well as managing the workload for other members of the Government liaison team.
Prepare written responses for all external government audits performed.
Manage/maintain the disclosure statements for Parsons CAS segments and HO/IHO G&A allocations.
Support the development of the annual indirect rate proposal by assisting in the preparation of claim schedules.  
Develops an understanding of business processes and controls through investigation, subject matter expert (SME) interviews, research.  Identify potential internal control weaknesses in company processes based on audit findings and observations.  Work with department heads, SMEs, Government Accounting director to affect the changes necessary to mitigate these weaknesses.
Reviews and reasonably ensures cost representations, relevant accounting and management systems, and business processes and controls are in compliance with government regulations (e.g., Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), contract terms and conditions, and company and/or profit specific policy and procedures).  
Communicates, interfaces, and coordinates with various Finance personnel, Project/Finance Managers, Human Resources, Contracts personnel, Management, DCAA and other external auditors in a professional and cooperative manner.  
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (or equivalent)
10+ years of related work experience
Knowledge of government audit procedures and government regulations (FAR, DFARS, CAS, etc.) is a must.
Requires a thorough knowledge of accounting techniques and principles strong knowledge of established principles and accepted practices of government contracting work. 
Incumbent must have strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in PC software packages typically associated with accounting.
Ability to perform in a lead capacity is also required.
