Responsibilities: 

  • SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the development and validation, verification and testing (VVT) of the C4I portion of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).  
  • Candidate would fill a position in the Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4I) Division (ABEC) of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD) organization. 
  • Should have strong knowledge of all aspects of the C4I mission area and at a minimum, Joint Tactical Data Links, Joint Extended Range capability and Line of Sight Link 16 (LOS 16). 
  • A solid understanding of the Link Architecture to include the various interfaces and messages which are passed from one element of the C4I suite to another.
  • Represent or support Aegis BMD C4I integration issues to established BMDS forums to include the BRWG, SEIC, ISG, and PCB as appropriate and coordinate across Aegis Combat System elements to address BDMS-level event BMDS Test Incident Reports (BTIRs) and other test observations.
  • Additionally, represent or support Aegis BMD C4I integration issues and test planning with working groups such as the ISG, PCB, TCWG, SEIC, SE-IWG, ICWG, TRWG, TPWG, VWG, Joint Scenario Working Group (JSWG), Scenario Design Working Group (SDWG), Mission Readiness Working Group (MRWG), and BMDS Requirements Working Group (BRWG). 
  • The candidate need be familiar and comfortable using Hardware in the Loop development and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding and experience with the various watch stations in an Aegis Combat Information Center is required as well as an understanding of the make-up and operations of Aegis Weapons System Baseline 9. 
  • Travel is required as is non-standard working hours in a laboratory environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience working on DOD or missile defense programs, preferably Aegis.
  • Minimum of BS/BA in STEM discipline, engineering preferred or 10 years engineering experience in the field or technical equivalent.
  • Qualification as a Combat Systems Maintenance Manager, System Test Officer Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) should also be noted.
  • Fundamental knowledge of ship integration activities (shipboard terms, operations, schedules, configuration management tools, and directives)
  • General understanding of fleet readiness and sustainment activities desired
  • Experience with productivity applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Secret Clearance required.
