We are hiring experienced Hydrology Engineers for several key design-build, design bid build and Public Private Partnership (P3) projects in the New Jersey, New York area and throughout North America. 

In this role, you will be engaged in the hydrologic and hydraulic design and analysis of all aspects of transportation projects, including rivers, ponds, culverts, storm drains, floodplains and grading. You will prepare and review drawings for final design, construction, detour, and erosion control and prepare and review design reports. Prepare permit documents, specifications, and estimates. Perform quantity calculations and produce/check engineering analytical data and related information to assure the design and any technical reports are accurate. 


Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering drainage and hydrology work for road, highway, and related transportation structures

This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.

Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.

For more Sr. level candidates (7-10 years), you may supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.

May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.

Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.


4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)

3+ years or more of related work experience with drainage and hydrology for roads and highways.  

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate essential

For more experienced candidates – (5 to 12 years) - Professional Engineer (PE) License is required or ability and willingness to obtain within 1 year

Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is highly preferred.

Must have proficiency utilizing civil/drainage related design software. 

For example, experience with some or all of the following, will be considered:  AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation V8i, Geopak, InRoads, StormCAD, EPA-SWMM, ArcGIS, SMS w/ SRH-2D, HydroCAD Storm Sewers, CivilStorm, Inroads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS software, or other PC software packages typically associated with H&H engineering
