The Opportunity: 


Are you a Facilities Manager in or near Centreville?  Have you been responsible for facilities operations at a cleared facility?  If you’ve managed facilities renovations this opportunity with Parsons is exceptional.  We really like candidates that have liaised between multiple stakeholders in facility renovations and have the financial acumen needed to help estimate annual operations and special projects.  Thought the role starts focused on a single facility, our goal for this person would be to manage multiple locations in the region. 

Position Overview: 

The Facilities Manager’s responsibilities include the day-to-day office operations and procedures, managing all facilities related activities (eventually at multiple properties) and monitoring work order requests to ensure they are expeditiously brought to a satisfactory conclusion. You will function as the liaison with building property management and will be on-call for after-hours emergencies.

The Facilities Manager establishes and maintains frequent contact and collaboration with business unit senior managers and financial officers to ensure alignment with the latest business direction and real estate strategies. You will also interface with Procurement on the evaluation and selection of vendors and suppliers and be responsible for maintaining a consistent and appropriate aesthetic for interior, as well as exterior environment. Finally, you’ll provides facilities support in the areas of project tracking, space planning, workplace standards site plan maintenance, as well as business continuity, sustainability and safety programs.  Of course, you will perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. 

Requirements: 

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration (or equivalent) and at least 10+ years of related experience in facility management. 

Skills / Competencies: 

  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills are required. Ability to work in teams. Ability to follow through.
  • Ability to clearly deliver work instructions. 
  • High-level understanding and appreciation of Project Management and Facilities Management. 
  • Space planning and forecasting skills. 
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with an influence senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors. 
  • Strong knowledge of codes and regulations covering facility maintenance and workers’ safety. 
  • Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and can prioritize.
