Parsons is now hiring an experienced Principal Software Simulation Engineer with a desire to work on infrastructure projects that change the fabric of our communities.   Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance.  We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.   In this role you will determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.  The successful candidate applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline and may serve as a technical consultant in area of specialty for management or the client.  

May function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large simulation projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a largescale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 10+ years of related work experience
Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required
Must possess a thorough knowledge of current BMD technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project

Experience serving as a lead software engineer with 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Missile defense simulation experience including
    • Ballistic and non-ballistic missile flight dynamics modeling
    • Defense architecture and element modeling
    • Sensor and weapon system component modeling
    • Graphical user interfaces and visualization including 2D and 3D map data displays
  • Missile defense design analysis supporting
    • Defense laydown planning
    • Missile defense scenario analysis
    • Interoperability analysis
    • System performance assessments
  • Software Development experience including
    • C/C++ -- user interface frameworks, display components
    • Java – interface dialogs, data access, and I/O
    • Fortran – mathematical libraries, models, and algorithms
  • Software Engineering experience including
    • Requirements development, review, and tracking
    • Software design and maintenance
    • Software validation test plans and procedures
  • Strong writing skills to support documentation including
    • Version Descriptions
    • Users’ Manuals
    • Administrator/Installation Guides
    • Interface Design Descriptions
    • Training Materials
  • MATLAB, python, and/or perl scripting experience for data conversion tasks and algorithm development

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or Physics

Secret Security Clearance Required 

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Secret clearance.
