In this position, you will perform various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories of fluid mechanics, hydrology, and hydraulics engineering studied in a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering program or a related field. In addition, you may assist in-field inspections and the preparation of inspection reports. 

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Drainage system design for transportation and related infrastructure
  • Design/analysis of storm drain and open channel systems
  • Hydrology and Hydraulics Analysis
  • Stormwater management and Green Infrastructure Design
  • Bridge Scour analysis
  • Erosion control and Sediment Control design and permitting

The ideal candidate should have an interest in participating in multi-disciplinary Civil Engineering-Transportation drainage projects.  The candidate will have an understanding of current environmental issues and sustainability relating to development projects, and a shared vision for collaboration with the project team. The candidates will work under the direction of Senior Engineers on water resources and drainage design projects.  


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field; Graduate degree a plus
  • 6 months to 5 years’ experience with drainage design, water resources engineering and related functions as listed above
  • Familiarity with GEOPAK, AutoCAD or MicroStation required
  • Active involvement in professional organizations
  • Required: EIT for entry-level and/or Professional Engineering Certification for experienced engineers.  

Desired Software Experience in typical software used in water resources engineering design which might include some or all of the following:

  • MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • PondPack
  • Flowmaster
  • WIN TR-55 and WIN TR-20
  • ArcMAP/GIS a plus
