Job Description

We’re looking for a well-qualified system engineer to focus on dataflow engineering for a large-scale customer system. The dataflow engineer will be responsible for implementation and lifecycle management of dataflows for existing systems, new deployments, and system upgrades. The candidate will use their experience with NiFi to setup, maintain, and troubleshoot flows from field systems back to a central Splunk repository. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain, improve, and create new custom NiFi data processors written in both Python and Java. The candidate will also provide system engineering support to coordinate between the Splunk team and COTS vendor systems to provide data extraction, data transformation, analytic support, operational support.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. diploma and 12 years experience.
  • Associates degree can be applied for 2 years credit, Bachelor's degree can be applied for 4 years credit and Master's degree can be applied for 6 years credit in relevant fields (Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Information Systems).
  • NiFi development experience
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience implementing or managing dataflow systems
  • Experience with Linux and virtualized environments
  • AN ACTIVE TS/SCI CLEARANCE AND POLY REQUIRED

Preferred:

  • Experience developing multi-tier or full-stack applications
  • Knowledge of writing Splunk commands and interfacing with Splunk as a developer
  • Experience with Splunk or related technologies such as ELK, especially as a developer
  • Knowledge of Computer Network Defense (CND) activities and concepts, including network analysis, malware analysis, and forensics
  • Experience with additional programming languages, especially Bourne shell
  • Experience with packaging and integrating large software systems into turnkey and/or shrink-wrapped software deliverables, especially as Linux RPMs and/or Docker containers
  • Experience with unit and testing technologies for Python

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Top Secret SCI Poly clearance.
