We are adding a Geotechnical Engineer to our team to support public and private remediation projects.   This is a great opportunity for you to work as a part of a well-established team, to provide comprehensive geotechnical services and solutions to our clients for complex contamination issues.  Our team supports complex Environmental and Industrial projects all over the US!   Our engineers perform research, design, analysis, and may work in the office, out in the field at client sites, and in the lab.  You can work on projects focused above ground, below ground, around water, in water and help protect the public and the environment!

We are looking for an experienced Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in either Geotechnical, civil, Hydrology, water resources or environmental engineering that exhibits great problem-solving skills, a “can do” approach and thrives in a high energy environment.  In this role, you will support various civil engineering aspects of environmental programs, including slope design, landfill design, excavation design, habitat restoration, field investigations, erosion control, stormwater design, permitting, and construction quality assurance.  You will be expected to define the problem, establish the work scope, prepare the budget and schedule, plan the work, execute design and field tasks, and report on the work status to the PM’s.  You will be based out of our Syracuse NY OR Buffalo NY office, however willingness to travel to supplier, client, site investigation locations or construction site locations is expected and will be required. 

Typical Responsibilities may include:

Developing work plans, detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.

Preparing engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

Providing input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

4-year degree in a related engineering curriculum.  (Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Water Resources or related field)

5+ years relevant industry experience in grading design, erosion control, stormwater design, slope design, for site development projects, transportation, or environmental projects. 

Experience with Landfill design or environmental remediation highly desirable.

Experience with 3D / AutoCAD - Soil / Grading

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferable or willingness to obtain PE license as soon as possible.   

Preferable 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification and valid refresher course.
