POSITION OVERVIEW:
Manages all chemical activities for the SWPF Project, a CAT2 Nuclear Facility. Serves as the primary point of contact with the client for all chemical activities related to the Salt Waste Processing Facility

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the Chemical Coordinator for SWPF
Manage the chemical inventory program at the Salt Waste Processing Plant, a CAT2 nuclear facility.

Approve all chemicals for use at the SWPF

Ensure all SDS information is correct and readily available to the workers

Assist in job planning activities where chemicals are used

Provide guidance to facility workers concerning chemical hazards

Assist Emergency Management personnel during off normal activities where chemicals are involved

Assist IH personnel in the selection of appropriate PPE to protect facility workers

Actively promotes and supports safety policies and monitors the job site for good safety practices.
Chairs weekly job meetings; prepares and submits summary of project progress and pending issues to Project Manager.
Submits monthly reports to client, and responds to client issues and expectations.
Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and Project Manager to identify and implement corrective actions.
Keeps client and Project Manager informed of the day to day activities of the project.
Maintains accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.  

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical or construction related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years related chemical work experience is required
3 years in a leadership role at a DOE EM site
Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required
