Opportunity:
The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of Parsons Government Services finance and accounting team and will report to the Senior Accounting Manager in Pasadena, California.

Responsibilities:
The Accountant will play a key role in completing a broad range of difficult assignments requiring specialized accounting training and experience.  This position will prepare and post journal entries, manage assigned G/L accounts, prepare Sox Account Reconciliation package and take ownership of monthly/quarterly/annual deliverables.  This will include assisting with components of month-end/year end close process and internal and external audit /PBC deliverables.

This role will also entail analyzing projects and general ledger accounts and other financial information for completeness, accuracy and legitimacy of charges, and conformance with accounting procedures. As a Senior Accountant, your contribution will be working closely with other team members to assist with Monthly Management Reporting, maintain good relations within the group and other Global Business Units. And will include assisting in monthly closing entries, inter-company accounts analysis and confirmation, prepare financial statements, complete analysis of account balances, maintenance business plan, and quarterly forecast.  The Senior Accountant will also write/update desk procedure, develop and recommend improvements to accounting methods and procedures.  Other ad hoc assignments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting; engineering/construction/architectural industry preferred.
  • Financial statement preparation; consolidation experience preferred
  • Advanced experience with Excel & Excel spreadsheets required
  • Will work with forecasting tending business date
  • Proficiency in US GAAP, financial systems management and processes
  • Prior experience as a ‘team lead’ preferred.
  • Proof of US citizenship or permanent residency is required
